Our Nurture Hub

Nurture Hub Provision at Crawley Ridge Infant School

We are excited to introduce our new Nurture Hub, an outdoor learning space designed to provide a supportive environment for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The Hub is centred around nurturing principles, focusing on attentive listening, responsive interaction, and creating meaningful connections with children.

At the heart of our approach is the idea that "everything is verbalised," where adults engage with children through reciprocal activities such as play, shared meals, reading, and discussions about feelings and daily events. This helps foster emotional resilience and social skills, allowing pupils to thrive in a safe and structured setting.

What is a Nurture Group?

A nurture group consists of a small number of pupils (typically 6-12) who may be facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. The Hub offers a secure and welcoming space where children can build relationships with their peers and teachers, boosting their self-esteem and enhancing their emotional expression and regulation.

Our Nurture Hub is designed to bridge developmental gaps by creating a space that supports each child’s unique needs, giving them the opportunity to grow in confidence and develop key life skills.

How Can You Help?

As we prepare to launch this vital provision, we are seeking donations to help us expand our resources. If you are able to contribute any of the following items, it would be greatly appreciated:

  • Play-Doh
  • Sensory lights and toys
  • Fidget toys
  • Bubbles
  • Neutral coloured rugs
  • Art and craft materials
  • Beanbags
  • Wooden planters and gardening tools
  • Water and sand trays
  • Small music player
  • Waterproof paint
  • Fairy lights

Your generosity will help us create a rich and engaging environment for our children. Donations can be dropped off with Miss Petre in Year 1 (Amethyst class) or directly to the Hub when the new term begins.

If you believe your child would benefit from participating in the Nurture Hub, or if you have any questions, please get in touch with Miss Petre, your child’s class teacher, or email us at school@cri.tamat.org.uk.

Thank you for your support as we work together to create a nurturing space for our children.
